چکیده

In recent years, the diagnostic confidence of B-mode ultrasound has been strengthened by innovations including tissue Doppler techniques and imaging of tissue elasticity. Elasticity is the ratio of the strain (pressure) required to induce relative elongation or distention (Figure 1). The intrinsic elasticity of biological tissue is altered by physiologic aging and pathologic processes such as inflammation and tumorigenesis. Real-time ultra sound with off-line analysis allows functional tissue elasticity changes to be depicted (Figure 2).

بررسی ارزش تشخیصی اسکن 99mTc-MIBI (Scintimammography) در بدخیمی های پستان

The breast cancer is common in females.Early detection with safe , convenient , noninvasive and accessible diagnostic tools are important. X- ray mammography is still the first choice imaging for breast cancer, but has low specificity and limited value in dense breast and surgically scarred breasts. In recent years , MIBI scintimammography has been used for this purpose. The...

Diagnostic Performance and Additional Value of Elastosonography in Focal Breast Lesions: Statistical Correlation between Size-Dependant Strain Index Measurements, Multimodality-BI-RADS Score, and Histopathology in a Clinical Routine Setting

Objective. To evaluate the diagnostic benefit of real-time elastography (RTE) in clinical routine. Strain indices (SI) for benign and malignant tumors were assessed. Methods. 100 patients with 110 focal breast lesions were retrieved. Patients had mammography (MG), ultrasound (US), and, if necessary, MRI. RTE was conducted after ultrasound. Lesions were assessed with BI-RADS for mammography and ...

I-42: Cardinal Manifestations of Endometriosis Transvaginal Ultrasound

Endometriosis is a common benign gynecologic disorder, defined by endometrial glands and stroma outside of the endometrial cavity. The three primary types of endometriosis are superficial peritoneal lesions, ovarian endometriomas, and deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE).Although laparoscopy continues to be the gold standard for the diagnosis of endometriosis, transvaginal ultrasonography show...

Differentiating between malignant and benign breast masses: factors limiting sonoelastographic strain ratio.

PURPOSE We compared strain ratio vs. qualitative elastography for the further differentiation of focal breast lesions, with special focus on limiting factors. MATERIALS AND METHODS 215 patients with 224 histologically proven breast masses (116 malignant, 108 benign) were prospectively examined using a high-end ultrasound system (Philips iU22) with serial elastography function. B-mode scans an...
